COVINGTON, GA – This weekend at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA, Bridgestone Golf tour team member Brandt Snedeker authored one of the most remarkable final rounds in PGA TOUR history, overcoming tropical storm-like winds and rain to grab his 8th career PGA TOUR title. Starting the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open six shots off the lead, Snedeker put his new 2016 B330 golf ball and JGR Driver to the test, overpowering the inclement weather and a challenging course setup to record a 3-under par 69 – not just the only round in the 60s but the only red number in the field during the final round. Making the win even more remarkable, Snedeker didn't play a shot in the event's rain-delayed finish, which was pushed to Monday, when weather conditions actually improved.
"This was like playing a U.S. Open course in British Open conditions, I've never experienced anything like it," said Snedeker. "I put the new B330 and JGR driver in my bag this year and the results bare out. Since I've put them in play I've finished 3rd, 2nd and 1st. That's pretty unbelievable stuff. That shows you how good the new stuff is and how confident I feel in it."
Snedeker showcased impressive driving, iron play and clutch putting to tame el Nino's 40-50 mph wind gusts and torrential rains that battered the California coast. In his victory, Snedeker trusted Bridgestone's new TOUR B330 golf ball, JGR Driver, J15 CB irons (4-PW) and J15 Forged Wedges (52-degrees and 56-degrees).
In his first three starts of 2016, Snedeker has finished 3rd, 2nd and 1st. With the victory, Snedeker earned $1.17 million and vaulted himself into 2nd place in the early 2016 FedEx Cup standings.
Snedeker's new ball and driver will be available at retail on March 4, 2016 and feature street prices of $45 per dozen and $299, respectively.
